Unless you have been living under a rock in Franklin, you can’t help but notice all the construction projects going on around the city.  There are a few upcoming projects worth mentioning.

Major Thoroughfare Plan – Columbia Avenue from Downs Blvd to MacHatcher Pkwy.  The project includes widening to four lanes, adding a median, bicycle lanes and a sidewalk.  The estimated cost of this project is $21m.

Future Home of Fire Station 8 – I’m not looking forward to the sirens in my neighborhood, but knowing more lives will be saved by increasing emergency services is definitely positive growth for Franklin.  Located on Hwy 96 in the West Haven Subdivision, this will set the tax payers back close to $3m.
